TITLE:                        General Sales Manager

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clear Channel Radio of Augusta is looking for a GSM to lead our dynamic team of AE’s and manages the digital sales effort for our cluster.    Our formats include AC, Classic Rock, Urban AC, CHR, Urban and Sports Talk. This position requires a strategic thinker and strong team leader with a consistent history of achieving sales goals and outpacing the market.  They will have the ability to mentor and grow a team of experienced AE’s in a multi-platform sales culture.   The GSM will foster a cohesive team unit focused on productivity and exceeding sales objectives.  The ideal candidate will possess an excellent working knowledge of the ways companies are using digital to market their business and be able to share that knowledge.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

3-5 years experience in media sales management. No exceptions. Outstanding references and proven track record.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: 

Position requires a Bachelor Degree in related fields or equivalent experience.

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

Some media sales experience.

Clear Channel Radio CSRA owns and operates the following stations, WBBQ 104.3, WZNY 102.3, EAGLE 105.7, 96.3 KISS-FM, POWER 107, and ESPN 1340.  Our Account Executives maintain new and existing station advertisers through prospecting and great client service. Your primary responsibilities will include cold calling, developing new accounts, writing proposals, coordinating commercial copywriting and production and ongoing billing collection. You’ll also be responsible for building relationships and selling radio as a marketing solution to help your client meet their key business challenges. You have to be motivated and an enthusiastic self-starter who is able to work effectively in a team environment and also independently. You must also possess excellent oral and written communication skills, time management skills and be detailed oriented. Plus, in this day and time, basic computer skills are a must and you’ve got to be prepared to contribute to staff meetings and to attend training seminars. Broadcast sales experience is beneficial, but not critical.
